I was a little more tired than usual this morning after what ended up being a late evening last night tying up some loose ends before my flight. To help fight the fatigue I doubled up on my coffee consumption. After I downed my typical grande Starbucks cup I borrowed Rob’s French coffee press thingy and made myself a second drink. He actually had Starbucks beans as well and surprisingly I think that Rob’s coffee press made better coffee than the store.
I’m actually considering buying one of those things. That could save me some serious money over the long run. It makes sense, right? Like I need my coffee in the morning, so this seems like a decent investment…
What about you? Do you have a morning routine that revolves around coffee in the morning? Or are you an avid tea drinker like this one? If you absolutely must have coffee or tea in the morning, how many cups do you drink? To be honest, I’ve actually considered switching to tea so my teeth don’t turn any funky stain colors. I’m not, however, convinced yet that it’s worth the sacrifice.

Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe you are just amazing at making coffee. Don’t give all the credit to the french press. I do enjoy a small cup of coffee in the morning, light on the milk and a moderate amount of sugar (1 small teaspoon or 1.5 packets). I usually get it from Eric if he’s making some or from the office.
Every morning I grind and brew. Without exception. I have two cups before I leave and then I take a coffee traveler mug with two more cups worth with me to work. If I don’t set the auto-on on my coffee maker it is the first thing I do after i get out of bed. I left my mug at home today (mondays make me forgetful) so I went to starbucks and had a latte. with 4 shots.
My name is Erin and I am a coffee-holic
didnt i tell you about 10 posts ago to buy your own coffeemakeer?? noone listens to me
oo and i like tea better
Hi Erin,
I too grid and brew every morning and have been eyeing this interesting piece of art / coffee maker — http://www.chemexcoffeemaker.com/
The Internet says it makes stronger and more delicious coffee than an auto-drip. Doesn’t Starbucks have special names for latte’s with 3 or 4 shots? Like a red eye or black eye or something?
So I use this machine:

Just put the whole beans on top and let it go. That little device Eric, looks pretty crazy, but it probably makes a damn good cup.
Yea, I actually can’t handle Starbucks nutty ‘red eye’ which is actually a cup of black coffee with a shot of espresso in it. And honestly, the latte was accidental. I asked for one extra shot and they ‘threw in’ an extra one because they made it by accident? Because apparently Starbucks has no need for espresso shots just lying around.
MATT I should start a coffee blog !!
Need I say more?
I drink too many to even have an accurate count.
Matt I am telling you, just order Small World coffe online and make it at home. They are still by far my favorite beans.
Soda is my coffee, a nice cold coke…or pepsi.
Matt, I can’t do much of anything in the morning without my coffee as you know. The first thing I do after I get out of bet is brew. I can linger over four cups in the morning if I have the time. I have built up an immunity to the caffeine. I can drink a stong cup before bed and go right to sleep.
